Ukia Scene 1 version 2

So Here's another attempt at scene 1.  I think I'll keep hitting this scene until it is finished and I can clean it up.  I do plan on kicking out a beat board just so I know where I'm going and whether it is working,  thanks again Brian.  Storyboarding is not my strength but I feel like I'm getting better with each board.  Maybe by the end of this whole thing I'll be somewhat tolerable.

Too fast...I know you are animating this beast alone, but you can be efficient and create better drama, suspense, and pacing with a few longer holds...

Hey Drew,

lots of progress! careful of your Close ups 'popping' from one to the other. think about moving the woman and the man to opposite sides (or at least shift them off center) when they look around at each other. as it is, and especially with the fast timing, they pop.

thanks guys, Brian, yeah I hate the close-up shots. I'm redoing that scene. Lis and I talked about it, I thought it was corny. She said I could work it out where it is in silhouette. We could see a roughed version as shadows projected on the side of the hut seen from the outside. That way it would establish them as a happy family without making us look at their stupid grins. I'll definitely use the two shot thing when I show them together. I didn't even think about the 'popping'. Good call.
Andrew, I'll try for more holds, haven't really thought of the timing yet but I'll try to break it up as a rework this scene.
