A Boy in the Barn

So I scratched out a poem for A Boy in the Barn. Not my final version but would love some feed back to make changes or whatever.

A Boy in the Barn

Alone,

Speaks night,

Outside a barn,

A boy,

Dark shivers of cold,

The darkness protects,

Sunlight burns,

But small dust dances,

Like shooting stars,

Longing to hold,

Like the dark,

A shield from fear,

Instead,

Swallowing dust,

And hay,

And soil,

Safe in this womb,

In corners of his gut,

This,

His barn,

Only world known,

For fear of the outside,

Ventures no further,

Then crack given glances,

Through holes,

More dust,

Shimmering in light unseen,

Pulls his heart,

Fear pulls harder,

Dreams of dancing fade,

Huddled in corners,

Forgetting dust,

The little stars and dreams,

Cracks and crevices call,

Seen again,

Dancing light,

Tight rings and rusted hinges,

An exhale of broken glass,

Stinging toes,

Stretched far enough to snap,

Otherwise forsaken,

Push or turn to sand,

A creak felt not heard,

Breaks forth to reveal,

Nothing but stars,

A boy,

A barn,

And dreams of dancing like stars.
